Rental prices in Lisbon and Porto are soaring following the publication of the results of placements in Higher Education, with thousands of students looking for accommodation after learning which city they will study in. The rental market responds quickly to this seasonal demand, leading to significant increases in the prices charged in these two cities, which are the main university destinations in Portugal.

Retorta opens temporary accommodation for families in vulnerable situations

A new unit of the National Urgent and Temporary Housing Fund was inaugurated in Retorta, Vila do Conde, resulting from a partnership between the Municipality and the local Santa Casa da Misericordia. The structure aims to host families in vulnerable situations, functioning as a transition stage towards permanent housing solutions, ensuring protection, inclusion and autonomy. This project is part of the national strategy for creating residential units through acquisition, rehabilitation or construction, with an investment of 203 million euros under the PRR, foreseeing 2,000 emergency or transition accommodations nationwide, in addition to dwellings, housing blocks and centers for security forces.
