PSP detected 1,117 cases of irregular immigrants out of 52,000 checked

The National Unit for Foreigners and Borders of the PSP, which completed one year of existence on August 21, detected 1,117 cases of irregular immigrants during 52,000 inspection actions carried out so far. The unit continues to analyze coercive return processes inherited from the former AIMA, many of which date from before 2020, revealing a significant accumulation of pending cases in the area of immigration in Portugal.
