Tomato explosion: the best images of the start of one of the year's biggest festivals in Spain

Thousands of revellers took part in the traditional tomato fight at the "La Tomatina" festival in Buñol, Spain, where for an hour they threw 150,000 kilos of tomatoes at each other. The organizers expected 22,000 participants from all over the world at this annual event that marks the start of one of Spain's most popular summer festivals.
