Cases related to Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) currently represent 51% of all supplementary health lawsuits in Brazil, according to a survey by Conjur. Families face denials, unilateral cancellations, and limitations on essential therapies such as ABA, speech therapy, occupational therapy, and psychology, driving judicialization. Theme 1,295 of the STJ establishes understanding regarding the coverage of treatments by health insurance plans, bringing significant changes to the sector.
