Police arrest Brazilian fugitive sentenced to 14 years

The Judicial Police detained a 43-year-old Brazilian citizen, wanted by Brazilian authorities to serve a 14-year prison sentence for completed and attempted homicide. The crimes occurred in 2005, in Minas Gerais, when the man broke into a residence and fired at two people, causing one death. Present at the Évora Court of Appeal, the judge applied the precautionary measure of preventive detention until the conclusion of the extradition process to Brazil.

STJ begins to judge request for Alexandre Nardoni and Anna Jatobá's return to prison after neighbors' petition

A petition organized by residents of Santana, in the North Zone of São Paulo, prompted the LGBTQIAPN+ Pride Association to take to the Superior Court of Justice a request for Alexandre Nardoni and Anna Jatobá to return to prison. The couple, convicted of the death of their daughter Isabella, is accused of violating the conditions of open regime. The writ of mandamus began to be judged by the 5th Panel of the STJ and is expected to continue until September 2.

Arrested in Rio de Mouro with hundreds of doses of cocaine and hashish

A 27-year-old man was arrested by the PSP in Rio de Mouro, Sintra, on suspicion of drug trafficking. The arrest, carried out by the Criminal Investigation Division of Sintra, resulted from the recovery of a vehicle in a situation of breach of trust. During the operation, police seized approximately 599 doses of cocaine and 3,700 doses of hashish, as well as 148.20 euros in cash and two mobile phones. The suspect was brought before the Judicial Authority for the first judicial interrogation, being subjected to the precautionary measure of bi-weekly presentations.
