Portuguese people are spending more and more on pets: Glovo reveals 1,000% growth

Portuguese people are investing increasingly more in their pets, driving growth of over 1000% in the animal category on the Glovo platform since 2020, with an additional increase of around 50% between 2025 and 2026. The trend reflects the growing humanization of companion animals and the increase in purchasing power dedicated to pet care and products, with some users placing hundreds of orders through the platform for their animals.
Portugal is going to buy 75 armored vehicles from Spain for the marines, in an investment of 120 million euros fully funded by the European Union. The first vehicles, manufactured in Spain, should start arriving in the country next year.
A lawyer specializing in Labor Law warned that the repositioning of technicians and the consequent review of salary scales with repayment of wages is legally questionable and raises serious legal doubts. According to the specialist, jurisprudence has been favorable to workers in these matters, suggesting that employers face significant risks in case of litigation.
