The Trump administration has suspended immigrant visa applications worldwide, according to the Financial Times, to train consular staff in identifying individuals who may need government assistance. The suspension is another measure by the Trump administration to restrict entry into the US. The American Consulate in São Paulo stated that it is awaiting instructions from the embassy on how to proceed, and applicants with scheduled interviews were informed by email about the rescheduling of their appointments.
