Муниципальный секретариат по вопросам окружающей среды и климата (SMAC) reopened the Municipal Natural Park of Serra do Mendanha, located in Bangu, in the West Zone of Rio de Janeiro, this Sunday. The park had been closed for renovations since January 2025 and is now available to the public again.
One of the main renovated attractions is the natural water pool, which had its floor waterproofed and the lining renewed. The park also features a children's playground, equipped with a slide, swing and climbing structure, as well as a set of bicycle racks.
To serve visitors, the site has a drinking fountain, three bathrooms and a changing table. The main access to the park is at Estrada da Caixinha, 100, in Bangu, and it operates from Tuesday to Sunday, from 9am to 5pm.
