Google's parent company Alphabet agreed to pay £260 million to settle a class action in the UK that accuses Google of abusing its dominant position in the Play Store and charging excessive commissions to app developers. The lawsuit, filed by Competition Law professor Barry Rodgers on behalf of UK developers, alleges that the company imposed "excessive and unfair" fees on digital transactions. The settlement is awaiting approval from the Competition Appeal Tribunal at a hearing scheduled for September.
