Juan José Ebenezer, mechanic: "One thing you all do wrong is getting in the car, turning on the air conditioning and closing the doors"

El Periódico Mediterráneo - General30 August 2026 at 06:15

Juan José Ebenezer, a mechanic, warned about a common mistake that drivers make in summer: getting in the car, turning on the air conditioning and closing the doors. According to him, this practice is harmful.

In summer, high temperatures become an additional risk factor for drivers. According to the General Directorate of Traffic (DGT), excess heat inside the vehicle can increase the risk of an accident by up to 20%.

This heat promotes fatigue, reduces reflexes and increases the driver's reaction time, which compromises road safety during the hottest months of the year.
