SAPO29 August 2026 at 23:16

The International Atomic Energy Agency warned today that the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant in Ukraine is at risk of a total blackout within about ten days.

The plant has been occupied by Russian forces since the beginning of the invasion of Ukraine.

The IAEA warned of the imminent danger of power loss at the facility, which could compromise the safety systems of the nuclear power plant.

This warning comes in a context of growing concerns about the safety of Ukrainian nuclear facilities during the conflict.
