Almost four decades after the original release, Tom Cruise will return to the tracks as driver Cole Trickle in the film "Days of Thunder." The actor announced last Saturday (29) that the sequel to the 1990 production, which portrays the NASCAR racing world, is confirmed and will have Anne Hathaway as his co-star.
The film is expected to hit theaters on June 2, 2028, with release also in IMAX format. Cruise shared on social media a photo alongside Hathaway at Daytona International Speedway in the United States, in front of a race car with the inscription "Days of Thunder 2."
In a video released by both actors, Hathaway jokes with her co-star about when they would make the film. The actress, who is pregnant, says she will have the baby before filming begins, thus revealing the reason for the chosen filming period.
In the new production, Hathaway will play a team owner character. The article does not provide more details about the plot or other confirmed cast members for the sequel.
