The Amoreira Aqueduct is qualified for the national semi-final of the election of the New 7 Wonders of Portugal, in the category of Great Works. On Saturday afternoon, August 29, which is one of the monumental ex-libris of Elvas, it secured the classification by surpassing the Alqueva Dam in the regional final of Alentejo and Ribatejo. The Amoreira Aqueduct is a historical monument located in Elvas and is considered one of its most important ex-libris. The competition involves different regions of the country, with regional finals that determine the candidates that advance to the national phase of the contest.

Marvão Castle secured passage to the national semifinal of the New 7 Wonders of Portugal after winning the regional final dedicated to Alentejo and Ribatejo, held at Jardim das Portas do Sol in Santarém. Classified as a National Monument since 1922, the castle stands out for the preservation of its authenticity and its unique relationship with the surrounding landscape. With history dating back to the 9th century, when it was founded by Ibn Maruán, and integrated into the Kingdom of Portugal by D.
