Diego Oliveira, who has been part of Beija-Flor de Nilópolis's battery for ten years, five of them as battery director, has just taken on a new challenge in the samba world. He will be one of those responsible for commanding Piratão, the battery of the Piratas da Batucada samba school, located in Macapá, in Amapá.
Diego will be at the forefront of the battery alongside master Buda, who already integrates the school and knows closely the identity and way of working of Piratão. To compose his team in the new challenge, the sambista will also bring his assistant, Allec, in the development of the work towards Carnival 2027.
The invitation came through a member of the school from Macapá. For Diego, the opportunity represents the chance to share knowledge built throughout his trajectory in Rio's Carnival, without setting aside the identity and musicality of Amapá's Carnival.
