MIT transforms bacteria into "transistors" to create living circuits

In a conventional computer, transistors function as switches that allow or block electrical current. In a new system developed by MIT researchers, it is bacteria that perform this role. The goal of this research is to create living circuits, using microorganisms as functional components instead of traditional electronic components. This approach represents an innovative way of combining biology with technology, enabling the development of systems that incorporate living beings as an integral part of their circuits.
