Woman sentenced to 10 years in prison for drug trafficking and conspiracy to traffic drugs is arrested after months on the run

A 29-year-old woman, who had been on the run for months, was arrested by the Santa Catarina Civil Police. She had been sentenced to 10 years in prison for the crimes of drug trafficking and conspiracy to traffic drugs. The identity of the criminal was not revealed.

The arrest occurred last Thursday (27), after an investigation carried out by the Drug Enforcement Division (DECOD) of Criciúma. The woman was located at an address in the municipality of Garopaba, on the southern coast of Santa Catarina.

The suspect's conviction relates to a case that occurred in 2024. On that occasion, she and her partner were approached by the Civil Police while transporting approximately 5 kg of cocaine.

With the capture of the fugitive, the Justice system will be able to continue with the execution of the determined sentence, of 10 years in prison, for the crimes of drug trafficking and conspiracy to traffic drugs.
