Chinese tech giant Tencent launches open-source AI for programming and research tasks that would surpass Z.AI and Moonshot

The Chinese tech giant Tencent launched a preview version of a new open-source artificial intelligence aimed at tasks such as software engineering, research, and financial analysis. The Hy4 Preview model operates with 770 billion parameters and features a 1 million token context window, representing a major improvement in size and data scale compared to its predecessor. The larger the context window, the more an AI model can memorize and respond to user queries and commands.

According to the company, the new model surpasses competitors Z.AI and Moonshot AI. Tencent plans to integrate Hy4 Preview into its existing products, including the programming assistant CodeBuddy and the productivity platform WorkBuddy.

In blind engineering tests conducted by Tencent's own specialists, Hy4 Preview demonstrated superior performance to the main competitors in the market, consolidating the company's position in the artificial intelligence sector.
