Palmeiras projects that striker Paulinho will need approximately another month to return to the field after suffering a new injury during training on Thursday. The player had an injury to the tendon of the long adductor muscle of the right leg and will continue treatment with the Health and Performance Center (NSP), with a forecast for return in September.
The new injury is not directly related to the surgery performed on the same leg last year, according to the club. Paulinho was getting close to returning to games after a long recovery period and could play against Mirassol on Sunday.
The problem occurred in the final phase of the recovery process, during a training session with players from the team. Coordinator Pedro Pontin explained that Paulinho had been progressing well and was already close to returning, but suffered the new tendon injury during the activity with the squad players.
