Benfica announced the loan of 19-year-old footballer Joana Valente to Valadares Gaia until the end of the season. The young midfielder will represent a reference team in the BPI Liga, which sits in fourth place in the standings.
Joana Valente has an outstanding record in Benfica's and the National Team's youth categories. With the eagles, she won two Under-19 National Championships and, despite her youth, has 51 caps for Portugal's youth national teams.
The move comes as an opportunity for the young player to gain experience and minutes in a more demanding competitive context, with the goal of continuing to develop. At Valadares Gaia, Joana Valente will reunite with Maria Cruz, in a context that could be important for her sporting growth.
The player's main objective remains earning a place in Benfica's first team, an ambition she has already publicly stated.
