FC Porto has loaned goalkeeper Diogo Fernandes to Amarante, in an operation that aims to give the 21-year-old the opportunity to play as a senior outside the Porto club.
Diogo Fernandes will have his first experience as a professional player outside the dragons, where he completed his formation and played in the youth ranks of the Porto club.
This loan allows the young goalkeeper to accumulate playing minutes and competitive experience at the highest level, something that would be more difficult to obtain by remaining only as a secondary or tertiary option in the FC Porto structure.
Amarante, a club that plays in secondary divisions of Portuguese football, thus has a young option trained at the Porto academy for the goal during the next season.
