Benfica and Torreense Learn First-Phase Opponents

Benfica and Torreense found out this Friday their opponents in the first phase of the Europa League. The draw defined the groups and teams they will face in the European competition.

The Europa League begins on September 16 and 17 and the group stage ends on January 28. The two Portuguese teams will thus prepare for a journey that will last several months.

Benfica is one of the seeded teams in the draw, which gives it some advantage in the group draw. Torreense, on the other hand, was placed in a different pot.

This Friday's draw marks the official start of the Portuguese teams' journey in this season's edition of the Europa League, with matches beginning in mid-September.
