The GNR issued an alert about the growing sophistication of road traffic accident simulation crimes, revealing that the losses recorded by June already approach the total value recorded during the entire year of 2025. This trend represents a significant increase in criminal activity in this area.
In one of the most serious documented cases, the loss reached 15,450 euros. This value highlights the scale these fraudulent schemes can reach, causing considerable losses to victims.
The method used by the suspects involves simulating non-existent collisions. After simulating the accidents, the criminals demand immediate payments from victims and additionally seek to access their bank accounts to obtain further financial benefits.
The GNR emphasizes that the growing sophistication of these practices represents an increased challenge for authorities, who warn the population about the need for vigilance regarding suspicious situations related to road traffic accidents.
