A double earthquake struck Venezuela on August 24, causing impacts on the Portuguese population in the La Guaira region, in the north of the country. More than 300 Portuguese residents in that area were affected by the earthquake.
The General Consulate of Portugal in Caracas responded to the situation through a consular visit held in Cátia La Mar. During this action, consular staff provided assistance to the Portuguese citizens affected by the natural disaster.
The number of people assisted exceeded 300, demonstrating the scale of the impact of the double earthquake on the Portuguese community established in that region of Venezuela.
