Portugal's Ministry of Modernization created a WhatsApp application for government communication that cost around 600 thousand euros to taxpayers, but ended up not working due to very low uptake by citizens. Besides the poor usage, doubts also arose about the security of the network used by the application, which contributed to its failure.
Spanish police are investigating the presence of Moroccan radicals who are believed to have managed to enter Ceuta during the July migration surge. Authorities suspect that these individuals infiltrated among the thousands of migrants who crossed the border during that period.
Spanish authorities believe the radicals may have taken advantage of the chaos and confusion of the migration situation to enter the enclave undetected, blending in with the other migrants attempting to cross the border.
