A 57-year-old man was arrested in flagrante delicto, in Lousada, for suspicion of domestic violence and resistance and coercion against a public official. The arrest took place on Tuesday, August 25, after a report that led military personnel from the Lousada Territorial Post to the location.
During the intervention, agents found that the man allegedly exercised psychological and verbal violence against his 54-year-old wife, his partner. The suspect also adopted an aggressive behavior towards the military and resisted the police intervention.
The man was formally charged and the facts were communicated to the Judicial Court of Lousada. The next day, August 26, he was brought before a judge for the first interrogation for application of precautionary measures.
The GNR recalls that domestic violence is a public crime, so the situation can be reported through 112, at a GNR post or through the official mechanisms of the authorities.

Um homem de 57 anos foi detido em flagrante delito, em Lousada, por suspeitas de violência doméstica e resistência e coação sobre funcionário, anunciou a GNR.
A detenção ocorreu na terça-feira, 25 de agosto, depois de uma denúncia que levou militares do Posto Territorial de Lousada ao local. Durante a intervenção, os agentes apuraram que o homem terá exercido violência psicológica e verbal sobre a mulher, de 54 anos.
Segundo a GNR, o suspeito adotou ainda um comportamento agressivo perante os militares e resistiu à intervenção policial, acabando por ser detido.
O homem foi constituído arguido e os factos foram comunicados ao Tribunal Judicial de Lousada. No dia seguinte, 26 de agosto, foi presente a primeiro interrogatório judicial para aplicação das medidas de coação.
A GNR recorda que a violência doméstica é crime público, pelo que a denúncia pode ser feita por qualquer pessoa que tenha conhecimento de uma situação deste tipo.
As situações de violência doméstica podem ser comunicadas através do 112, num posto da GNR ou através dos mecanismos oficiais de denúncia das autoridades.
