The Livre party questioned the Portuguese Government about the situation of an Azorean citizen who has been detained in the United States of America for almost a month. The political party raised the issue with the Portuguese authorities regarding this case.
According to the information provided, the Portuguese citizen allegedly signed the voluntary repatriation document, thus not contesting his expulsion process from the North American country. This decision allegedly was made by the detained citizen himself.
Until now, there is no concrete information about the expected date for his return to Portugal. The situation remains without a definite resolution from the competent authorities.
As a protest against the uncertainty of his situation, the citizen allegedly began a hunger strike that has already lasted several days. This action arises as a way to demonstrate his disagreement with how the process is unfolding.
