Deputies analyze bill that protects public employees in cases of privatization

The Chamber of Deputies' Committee on Public Administration and Public Service is analyzing Bill 1,787/2026, which aims to protect the employment bonds of public employees during the denationalization of public services. The proposal amends Law 9,491/1997 to ensure that in cases of concession, permission, or authorization of public services, mechanisms for preserving these employees' labor bonds are adopted. The protection would occur through transfer to federal indirect public administration entities linked to the corresponding sector, always respecting the CLT (Consolidated Labor Laws) legal framework. The text also provides that employees may join a special extinction roster linked to the indirect administration entity responsible for supervising the sector.
