Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama died at 97 in a hospital in Tokyo, leaving a legacy as one of the most important names in contemporary art worldwide. Known internationally for her works with polka dots, nets, and mirrored environments, she achieved public attendance records in Brazil, where her "kusamamania" began in 2013 with the exhibition "Infinity Obsession" at the Centro Cultural Banco do Brasil in Rio de Janeiro, attracting approximately 750,000 visitors and becoming the most visited exhibition at CCBB in the previous five years.
