Costs to balance electrical system fall 19% after peak at beginning of year

The costs to balance the electrical system in Portugal fell 19% in the second quarter, settling at 17.2 euros per megawatt-hour, after reaching a peak of 21.1 euros in the first three months of the year. ERSE attributes this decrease to the normalization of the electrical system operation, which during the beginning of the year had been affected by storm Kristin and the need to mobilize gas power plants to guarantee the 供应 of energy.
