The European Union demanded permanent commitments from Meta to protect children on Facebook and Instagram, threatening fines of up to 6% of turnover. Europe opened a formal investigation against the company, at a time when the US has already fined Meta $18 billion for minors' addiction to social media. The European Commission made clear that "the ball is in Meta's court" to comply with European legislation.

100% biometrics at the airport starting September 6th

The prime minister visited Lisbon Airport to monitor the preparation for the full implementation of the EES (Entry/Exit System), which will enable the airport to achieve 100% biometric capability.
