Doctor Samuel Juncal is being investigated by the Bahia Civil Police on suspicion of sexual abuse of a minor, production and storage of child pornography material in Salvador. The search and seizure warrant was executed this Thursday (27) at the doctor's residence in the Barra neighborhood, however there was no arrest warrant. Samuel Juncal graduated in Medicine from UFBA, with medical residency in general surgery and urology, in addition to a master's and doctoral degree in the field. The doctor's defense classified the accusations as "unfounded and slanderous," stating that he is innocent and is cooperating with the authorities.
A nine-year-old child was seriously injured after falling from the second floor of a building. As soon as the mother realized the accident, she called emergency number 112. The girl was treated at the scene by an INEM medical team and later transported with serious injuries to the Hospital das Caldas da Rainha.
