Piauí is required to provide R$ 31 thousand medication to patient in treatment through SUS, STF rules

The Federal Supreme Court (STF) decided that the State of Piauí is obligated to provide the medication Nintedanibe, worth R$ 31 thousand, to an elderly SUS patient diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis. Minister Dias Toffoli rejected an appeal from the Piauí state government and upheld the previous determination requiring the medication to be provided, thus guaranteeing access to the treatment requested by the patient.

Government mobilizes 10 million euros to restore productive capacity after fires

The Portuguese Government will make available 10 million euros in non-reimbursable support to restore the productive potential of agricultural holdings affected by the rural fires of summer 2026. The order, signed by Minister José Manuel Fernandes, officially recognizes the fires as a natural catastrophe and determines support for the most affected municipalities, such as Valpaços, where crops such as chestnut, olive groves and vineyards suffered significant losses. Holdings with damages exceeding 30% of productive potential and investments up to 400,000 euros will be eligible, with the first 10,000 euros supported at 100% and the remaining amount at 80% or 50%, depending on whether the beneficiary has agricultural insurance or not. Applications open on Thursday through the PEPAC portal.
