PSU. Government creates 'participation token' assigned for every 20 weekly hours of social solidarity

The Portuguese Government created a "participation fee" worth 2.5% of the social support index (IAS), that is, 13.43 euros, attributed to whoever performs 20 weekly hours of social solidarity. The measure also includes rules on additional availability hours and the creation of local integration centers, within the scope of social inclusion policies.

Montenegro will go next week to the inauguration of the President of São Tomé

Portuguese Prime Minister Luís Montenegro will attend the inauguration of President Carlos Vila Nova in São Tomé and Príncipe on September 3rd, which will be his first official trip to the country. During the visit, Montenegro will reaffirm Portugal's priority in the bilateral relationship with São Tomé and Príncipe, taking advantage of the cooperation potential between both nations. The trip is also part of valuing the CPLP and will allow for discussions on matters of common interest at regional and international levels, considering Portugal's future presence as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council starting in January 2027.
