The national director of the Judicial Police, Carlos Cabreiro, has been accused by a PJ coordinator of having lied in court and ordered a telephone wiretap prohibited by the Public Ministry in the context of the case involving hacker Rui Pinto. The Attorney General confirmed having received the complaint, while Cabreiro stated he was unaware of the situation. The case raises questions about the conduct of the top officials in charge of criminal investigation in Portugal.
