Diver firefighters seek to collect injured turtle at Reis Magos beach

A team of divers from the Madeirense Voluntary Firefighters has been carrying out, this Thursday, a rescue operation of an injured turtle on Reis Magos beach, in Caniço, Madeira. The animal, which has been spotted in recent days in the coastal area, is being monitored by the Institute of Forests and Nature Conservation (IFCN), with the Santa Cruz Firefighters also being called to assist in the operation.
A nine-year-old child was seriously injured after falling from the second floor of a building. As soon as the mother realized the accident, she called emergency number 112. The girl was treated at the scene by an INEM medical team and later transported with serious injuries to the Hospital das Caldas da Rainha.
