End of the 6x1 schedule: text will be presented by the rapporteur to the Senate committee this Thursday

Senator Omar Aziz (PSD-AM), rapporteur of the PEC to end the 6x1 schedule, will present his report this Thursday (27) to the Constitution and Justice Committee (CCJ) of the Senate, maintaining the text approved by the Chamber of Deputies. The proposal will be the first item on the committee's agenda next Wednesday, with expectations for the report to be voted on the same day. The chairman of the CCJ, Otto Alencar (PSD-BA), stated that he will follow the rules and respect the decision of the majority, while the government allies defend that, if approved in the committee, the PEC should be considered by the Senate Floor on the same day, which will depend on the president of the House, Davi Alcolumbre (União Brasil-AP).

The Portuguese Government will make available 10 million euros in non-reimbursable support to restore the productive potential of agricultural holdings affected by the rural fires of summer 2026. The order, signed by Minister José Manuel Fernandes, officially recognizes the fires as a natural catastrophe and determines support for the most affected municipalities, such as Valpaços, where crops such as chestnut, olive groves and vineyards suffered significant losses. Holdings with damages exceeding 30% of productive potential and investments up to 400,000 euros will be eligible, with the first 10,000 euros supported at 100% and the remaining amount at 80% or 50%, depending on whether the beneficiary has agricultural insurance or not. Applications open on Thursday through the PEPAC portal.
