The Ibex opens flat after Nvidia's AI results and with Jackson Hole in focus

The Ibex 35 opened Thursday's session virtually flat, with a rise of 0.03%, to 20,073 points, in a day where investors are digesting Nvidia's results and waiting for clues that Federal Reserve (Fed) president Kevin Warsh, from Jackson Hole, may offer tomorrow. The Spanish benchmark comes after closing on Wednesday with a gain of 0.05%, to 20,067 points.

Fosun more than doubles profit to 217 million in the first half

Fosun, the shareholder of Fidelidade and BCP, more than doubled its profit in the first half of 2024, totaling 217 million euros (1.7 billion yuan), an increase of 160.3% compared to the same period last year. Revenue remained stable at around 11,094 million euros, while investment in innovation and technology grew 16.7% to 4.2 billion yuan. Fidelidade, with 30.1% market share in Portugal, saw its net profit rise 23.8% to 165 million euros, despite losses caused by storms.
