Jornal de Negócios27 August 2026 at 07:00
War and the 40% increase in jet fuel prices are costing the aviation industry 19 billion euros, according to sector analyses. Route diversions caused by conflicts, combined with aircraft shortages, are severely pressuring airlines' operational margins. Forecasts indicate that sector profits will be halved by 2026, representing one of the biggest financial crises in commercial aviation since the covid-19 pandemic.
