"Our Secret," a Brazilian film that won the awards for best film, photography, and art direction at the Gramado Festival, combines social realism and psychological drama by portraying two generations of the same family living together in a house that becomes a central character. The work originated from the play "Deaf Loves," written by director Grace Passô and staged by the group Espanca, but it received a cinematic treatment, with a camera that moves exploring the relationships between the people and the space where they live. The opening sequence, in a car traveling through Belo Horizonte, establishes the theme of "the presence of absence" and longing as a family inheritance.
