Trial of the mastermind of the September 11 attacks will begin in June 2028

A U.S. military judge has decided that the trial of Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the self-proclaimed mastermind of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, will begin on June 5, 2028. Mohammed faces charges of conspiracy, murder of American military personnel, terrorism and aircraft hijacking, among other crimes, and will be tried by the Guantanamo Military Commission.
