Belgium alerts for 'national emergency' due to wave of shootings related to drug trafficking

Belgian Interior Minister Bernard Quintin declared that Belgium is in a "national emergency situation" due to a wave of shootings in Brussels. He announced increased police presence and other measures to combat drug trafficking-related violence and organized crime, after six shootings in four days and 65 since the beginning of the year.
