Car attack leaves one dead and ten injured in France

A man deliberately ran over a group of pedestrians on Wednesday night in Caen, in western France, leaving at least one dead and ten injured. Seven victims are in a state of absolute emergency and three in a state of relative emergency. The driver fled after the attack but was detained hours later in Ouistreham, a town about 20 km from the scene. The suspect, born in Russia, is not known to intelligence services, and the incident allegedly occurred after a fight.
A nine-year-old child was seriously injured after falling from the second floor of a building. As soon as the mother realized the accident, she called emergency number 112. The girl was treated at the scene by an INEM medical team and later transported with serious injuries to the Hospital das Caldas da Rainha.
