Uberization: STF may resume trial on labor relationship with app

oglobo27 August 2026 at 03:00

The Supreme Federal Court (STF) may resume on Thursday the judgment of two actions on the "uberization" of labor relations, involving the employment relationship between drivers and delivery workers of apps and digital platforms such as Uber and Rappi. The actions, reported by Justices Edson Fachin and Alexandre de Moraes, contest decisions by the Labor Courts that recognized employment relationships with service providers. Although they appear on the docket, the cases may not be heard as they are not among the first in the order of analysis. The STF's decision will have a direct impact on more than ten thousand cases paralyzed in lower courts, directly affecting the work model based on digital platforms that consolidated in the country without specific regulation.
