The Gennius group, owner of the Habib's and Ragazzo chains, filed for judicial reorganization at the Court of Justice of São Paulo, declaring debts of R$265 million, although bank debt exceeds R$300 million. The request was granted by Judge Jomar Juarez Amorim, from the 1st Bankruptcy and Judicial Reorganization Court of São Paulo, who granted an emergency injunction prohibiting creditors from suspending or interrupting executions against the group. In July, the fast-food chain had already obtained judicial protection against creditor collections. The group also manages the Tendall Grill steakhouses, expanding the list of Brazilian retail companies in crisis.
