Help requests from male victims of domestic violence have increased

Requests for help from male victims of domestic violence have been increasing in Portugal. APAV supported more than 770 male victims last year, almost double the cases registered in 2025, revealing a growing trend of men seeking support and reporting situations of violence in the domestic context.
