Former PSD leader Luís Marques Mendes said his "political action is over," but admitted he could return to political commentary, having already received invitations to do so. In a speech upon arriving at the PSD Summer University, the former candidate supported by PSD and CDS-PP in the last presidential elections, where he came in fifth place with about 11% of the vote, completely ruled out the possibility of running again or holding any political-party position in the future.
