Almost there, almost in the corridor of Lobito

The Presidents of Angola and the Democratic Republic of Congo signed in Kinshasa the contract for the rehabilitation of the main railway section of the Lobito Corridor, corresponding to the Benguela Railway. The Angolan President, João Lourenço, who made a short visit to the Congolese capital, stated that the infrastructure is expected to be operational in the coming years, considering this section as the main component of the large Lobito Corridor project.

Fosun more than doubles profit to 217 million in the first half

Fosun, the shareholder of Fidelidade and BCP, more than doubled its profit in the first half of 2024, totaling 217 million euros (1.7 billion yuan), an increase of 160.3% compared to the same period last year. Revenue remained stable at around 11,094 million euros, while investment in innovation and technology grew 16.7% to 4.2 billion yuan. Fidelidade, with 30.1% market share in Portugal, saw its net profit rise 23.8% to 165 million euros, despite losses caused by storms.
