Federal public debt reaches R$9.29 trillion and government expands use of securities linked to the Selic rate

Brazil's federal public debt rose 0.22% in July, reaching R$9.29 trillion. The National Treasury revised the Annual Financing Plan, increasing the share of Selic-linked bonds from 46-50% to 49-53% of the federal public debt composition, at the expense of fixed-rate bonds (20-24%) and inflation-indexed bonds (21-25%). The change reflects an environment of greater volatility and high interest rates, which make it difficult to place long-term bonds on the market.
