Distributor decides to release 'Dark Horse' after the election and cites bad experience with film about Lula in campaign year

The distributor Europa Filmes decided to release the documentary "Dark Horse," a biopic of Jair Bolsonaro, only after the municipal elections. Director Wilson Feitosa justified the decision by citing a previous negative experience with the release of the film "Lula, o Filho do Brasil" in 2010, during an election year. The documentary became the target of controversy after revelations that Senator Flavio Bolsonaro asked banker Daniel Vorcaro of Banco Master for R$61 million to finance the production, without delivering the promised accounting report. The topic has been used by Lula's allies to attack the opponent.
