Circulation of electric vehicles in Rio: city hall publishes new decree with more detailed rules; see what is in effect

The city of Rio de Janeiro published a new decree (no. 58537) with more detailed rules about the circulation of electric vehicles in the city, replacing a previous norm that had generated doubts. Among the main changes are more precise definitions of electric bicycle, moped, and self-propelled vehicle — the latter regains its own rules, being able to circulate in bike lanes without the need for registration or licensing. The decree also provides for an exclusive leisure bike lane for electric bikes and self-propelled vehicles on the South Zone waterfront on Sundays and holidays, in addition to expanding enforcement and making vehicle registration mandatory.

Montenegro will go next week to the inauguration of the President of São Tomé
